Herbie Nichols at JazzWax

If you're not hip to Herbie Nichols, one of the most under-appreciated jazz geniuses in history, I highly recommend a visit to today's post in Marc Meyers' fascinating JazzWax blog.

Meyers also mentions A.B. Spellman's book, Four Lives in the Bebop Business. This is the one book I've been recommending above all others since it came out in the mid-eighties. You can check it out at Canadian amazon here.
