city live music licence proposed change

if you can, you should go to this open house/public hearing - they are holding this meeting to get a chance to hear what the public has to say about this topic and these changes so the legislation in October is more effective.
check it out....

Restaurant Entertainment Review - Notice of Information Meeting and City Council Public Hearing

The City of Vancouver will be holding an open house to provide information on proposed changes to restaurant entertainment regulations on:

Monday, September 26, 2005 from 3 to 7 pm
Vancouver Public Library, 350 West Georgia Street, Promenade, Concourse Level

The proposal would allow for more entertainment opportunities in restaurants by removing limits on the number of entertainers and permitting amplified musical instruments in Class-1 Restaurants. In addition, changes to the Noise Control By-law, establishing maximum interior decibel levels, and instituting a stopping time for live entertainment in restaurants (midnight) are also recommended. Complete details are available in a staff report at:

City Council will be considering the proposed changes at a Public Hearing to be held:

Thursday, October 6, beginning at 7:30 pm
Council Chamber, Third Floor, City Hall, 453 West 12th Avenue.

If you would like to speak at the Hearing please call Denise Salmon, City Clerk's Office at 604.873.7269 before 5 p.m. on the day of the Hearing, or register in person between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m.

This could be good! I'm going to try making the meeting. Anyone else? Let's make a night of it. Beers at the Jolly Alderman afterward. (Does that place still exist?)

Any political action that involves beer - I'm in!
