Some Extreme details on jamming rules:
Join members of the Butter and Egg Band and the Hot Foot Five on July 3rd as we help to host the fourth monthly traditional-jazz-and-blues jam at The Kozmik Zoo (53 W. Broadway). We'll play a short set to get the stage warmed up and then we'll be inviting musicians up to come and jam some tunes! Ammar will be clearing out tables as well so there will be room for people to dance. So, bring an instrument, your dancing shoes, or just some ears; it should be a great time for musicians, dancers, and listeners. Admission is by donation and the music will start up between 8 and 8:30.

Any instrument and skill-level is welcome. However, we will _not_ be providing amplifiers, though there is a PA and a couple microphones there and we will have a washboard, tambourine, splash, and drums.

We have a reasonably large book of songs from roughly 1900-1940 (email us for a link to a PDF). However, if you want to play a song that we don't have you will have to provide (concert) charts for the rhythm section and horns; alternatively, you can send us an email to see if we have a lead-sheet that's not in the PDF. If you're a vocalist and need a song in a specific key, you should bring charts for that; http://wikifonia.org/ is a very useful site for this purpose.

If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to email us at butter.and.egg.band@gmail.com.

My understanding is that the Tuesday Jam at the Kozmik Zoo is no more, but the people who organized it are sleuthing out a new venue, and will announce it here once they get it set up.
