Question Origins of famous intro

Can anyone tell me the origins of the famous bebop intro heard on recordings of tunes such as Charlie Parker's Bird of Paradise, All The Things You Are and Kenny Dorham's Prince Albert?

Who came up with it? Does it crop up on any other tunes?
