The new Metalwood CD, Chronic, will be out June 10. That's all I know. Maybe CT will tell us a little something about it. :)

Is it a tribute to Dr. Dre and West Coast Gangsta Rap? Can't wait to hear Murley rhyme. No, I'm kidding, but why did they call it the Chronic? ;-)

Perhaps in tribute to B.C.'s most lucrative cash crop?

Hey there Everyone,

Well, yes the reference I think in a round about way is a reference to BC's budding industry but it wasn't infact intentional... We ended up naming the album after a Tune that's on the album called Chronic that is, yes a bit of a homage...

A bit about the album... hmmm.. well, I think it's safe to say that we all feel (Metalwood that is) that's its our most focused effort thus far. For me it captures what the band does live like none of the other albums. It also contains the most amount of bass playing yet to appear on any previous MW releases.. That can be a good or a bad thing depending on who you are...(drums stop bad...) I guess, to me at least, I can hear the sound of a band that has played together for almost ten years in this ablum... Everyone is playing great and it's pretty over-the-top compared to the albums of the past. No guests on this one, just us four guys. It's our fifth studio album and 6th album overall. In true MW fasion it was recorded in a day- and-a-half back in October. It's been a great ride and thanks to all who have stuck with us over the years! We all truly hope eveyone enjoys the album. Oh ya, BTW, Shawn Pierce takes a full production credit on this one! He really out did himself with the sounds and production on this record!

Taker easy,
CT
