VCC Ensembles

Anybody else catch the VCC student ensembles last night at the Cellar? I got there too late for Al Matheson's bunch I did see the Wed. night octet directed by John Korsrud. Good compositions (especially one by the piano player. Was her name Monique?).Impressive playing all round.

P.S. How come I never thought of doing Well You Needn't as a Reggae tune?

Trevor Mcpherson, who was the bass player on the gig, tells me the aforementioned pianist-composer was Danielle Berwick. The flute player was Jeff Feinstein ( I played in junior symphony with Jeff back in the '60's. Can't believe I didn't recognize him. Must have been the mustache). Trev didn't give me the other folks names, but it was stellar playing from all.

And a big up to the Cellar for the use of the room!
