Before the thought dribbles out of what's left of my alleged mind, I'd like to thank Cory, Chris and company for treating us so nicely on our last gig at the Cellar (March 27th).
Quite frankly, I think every jazz musician and listener in Vancouver should give thanks on a daily basis for the job these folks are doing. I'm mean, it ain't like they're getting rich at it (last time I looked, Cory was living with his parents). The combination of the space itself, coupled with Cory's documentation of the music on Cellarlive Records, has created a virtual mainstream jazz renaissance in this city, with effects felt far beyond the actual club itself. Just knowing it's there makes me feel good about being a jazz musician.
When that little lemonhead MF gets back from Australia, I'm a kiss him right on the mouth. (Brian, that's a shot you don't wanna miss).
