I was so upset that I wasn't able to see Jim Rotondi's 2 shows last week, he's a killer player! Did anyone here check it out? I'd like to hear how it went!

Sorry you missed it Cameron. Jim was in top form with his Woody Shaw/Freddie Hubbard/Kenny Dorham meld.....Jim is a major player has such a great sound on trumpet and flugelhorn. I caught the last set on Friday and Cory asked me to m.c. the gig on Sat. so I caught both sets. Not only was Jim great but Cam Ryga was on fire and these days is playing with an intensity that I've not heard before. Ross Taggart on piano, Andre LaChance on bass and Blaine Wikjord on drums were a perfect rhythm section for the gig which paid tribute to Bird playing his tunes and tunes associated with him. Confirmation and an amalgam of Ah-Leu-Cha and Chasin'the Bird were highlights of two fine evenings. Rotondi will be back so don't miss him next time Cameron.
