Just finished digging Stu Loseby's new CD "My Kingdom for a Reed",with Dave W. Robbins and Miles Black on B3.
I'm so used to hearing Stu with Linton Garner(in fact I just came from hearing him with Linton and Russ Botton in the atrium at the Hong Kong Bank on Georgia)where he tends to keep it subdued and dip deep into the Getz-Young sonorities, that I'd forgotten how edgy and Rhythm and Bluesy he can be. I guess the organ trio format brings it out in him.On "Flamingo" for instance,he sounds positively George Adams-ish.Stellar playing of course from Miles and Dave.
Stu sounds really hip and I think he deserves to get his props for this one.
