January 6th (A-Trane 2:30 to 5:30) Im subbing for Nou Dadoun. Hour 1 will feature music from the brand new re-issue of Miles Davis' 1970 Cellar Door sessions. Hour 2 will feature the trombone (I lost a bet to Steve Mynett) and Hour 3 will feature an interview with saxman Houston Person as well as music from his High Note releases.
January 9th (Chasin The Train 11:00 to Noon) The Cellar feature this week will be tenor saxophonist/clarinetist James Danderfer. Jim Dandy will be in studio to talk about his upcoming sextet gig at The Cellar, China where he is currently living and his album Run With It that continues to turn heads nation wide.
January 10th (The Wild Years 230 to 500) Im subbing for John Orysik this week. We are going to be featuring music from some recently released Mosaic Box Sets including beboppin alto saxophonist Lou Donaldson, hammond b3 organist Big John Patton and The Jazz Crusaders.
January 16th (Chasin The Train 11:00 to Noon) VINLY FREAK!! We will go all the way back to August 10th, 1956 and feature a record on Charlie Parker Records from pianist Marty Paich. The album CHILI PEPPER features Art Pepper on alto sax, Frank Capp on drums and Buddy Clark on bass.
January 23rd (Chasin The Train 11:00 to Noon) John Orysik will be subbing for me as I am in New York and France.
January 30th (Chasin The Train 11:00 to Noon) Our Vancouver feature this week will be guitarist Bill Coon. Mr. Coon will be in studio and we will be featuring music from his wonderful CD 'Speakeasy.' Bill will also be programming the hour of music that day.
