I'm getting back into playing again after raising a family etc. and have not had much luck in finding where to play.
Back in the sixties and seventies there were lots of options; Neil Longdon's Coffee House, Ronnies River queen, the Classical Joint, Izzy's etc. to name just a few.
I play guitar and doubled with Mike Taylor (piano and Hammond B3) and generally had a great time. Also there were some great musicians around, some of them are still here, but there don't seem to be the same opportunities for sitting in as there were back then.
I'm playing once a week at Kino's, Gypsy Jazz, which is fine but where are the bebop venues?
Any ideas anyone?
