Is there something wrong with a jazz deejay who says:

"That's an album that has legs a year-and-a-half since it was released."

From what I've heard Andy does a good job. I'm not sure what you're getting at?

I just thought it was funny (in a not funny way) that it would be surprising that a jazz album would "have legs" a whole year and a half after it was released. I was expecting him to say something like, "That album still has legs 60 years after it was released." It sounded to me like something a rock or pop deejay (or maybe a newcomer to jazz) might say. Am I just being too hard on him? I realize all you musicians who benefit from having him play your albums might be reticent to criticize. See, maybe there IS a good reason for anonymous posters!

Ya, cause we got the royalty cheques coming in the mail everyday!

I agree it is a some what odd thing to say, but the guys on the radio every day, I think he's entitled to a few strange statements once in a while. As for the critisism, I was just complaning about something he does the other day directly to a pair of CBC engineers. They told me to email him. Maybe you should do the same.

Guy,

This thread got me thinking about CBC's programing. I wonder how much input they actually get from the public and if they listen to it? I know that the various music shows have request lines but if something drives people nuts and they get a pile of emails do they change anything?

just thinking out loud.
