For those of you who hadn't heard - I very sadly inform you that we lost a true Vancouver treasure and legend today. Stew Barnett passed away suddenly at 6am this morning.

"Rest in Peace" just doesn't seem appropriate for Stew. I hope he's having a laugh...

Bob the repair guy at Prussin gave me the news ysterday. I was shocked and saddened. Then I remembered a story Norm Quinn told me about going down to the union office to file a contract when Stew was president. They got to swapping jokes and talking about trumpets and Norm left having completely forgotten to file the contract.
