what an amazing day of music.

after a quick visit to see the rodin exhibit at the art gallery, and some lunch,
i biked myself to granville island andsaw freefall with francois houle.

quite wonderful musicians, in a very airy, windy, lyrical and freewheeling performance.

i could only wish i was going to see atomic later that evening.

and that wish came true in the form of a miracle ticket from doug, formerly of black swan records, who is now promoting music in victoria.

thank you doug!!
the concert was amazing, and i could hardly be dissapointed with hoxha opening as well.

if you get a chance see atomic tomorrow.

Hi 100, you must mean Don from Victoria...

The Freefall show the first night at the Front was a beauty! I saw them last year in Athens, GA & both this setting (Western Front) was more appropriate & the band played better. Sadly, I was busy & missed the Perf Works show with François.

I got to see Hoxha (say: hodja) at the Cultch. I'd missed the December show & was impressed with what they create together. Definitely great chemistry between them & Torsten brought the right players together. I get the sense, that Vandermark is beside himself every second that he's playing with Rutherford.

I missed Atomic, as I can't catch anything past 9 or so, I have to present music at Rime. So, tonight, a friend is taking me to hear Atomic, but I have to split before Dave Holland...grrrrr!!
